HEAD OF BBC STUDIOS NORDIC PRODUCTIONS
IN SWEDEN
Located in Stockholm, Peter Nyrén will focus on growing BBC Studios’ presence in Sweden, building on BBC Studios’ scripted and unscripted format catalogue and on original development.
Prior to joining BBC Studios, Peter Nyrén spent 14 years at SVT, most recently as Commissioning Editor for Entertainment, Lifestyle, Drama and Film. Among other roles, Peter has also worked at Jarowskij, as an Executive Producer for Spotify and is currently serving as Operational Manager for the prestigious Swedish TV Awards “Kristallen”.
“I am hugely excited to have the opportunity to join BBC Studios at such a pivotal time. I have always admired the brand and look forward to further build the production business in Sweden together with Mikael Hansson, Daniel Svarts and the entire Nordic team.” Says Peter Nyren.
Peter Nyrén will report to Daniel Svarts – Regional Managing Director for BBC Studios Nordic Productions.

To support the growth of BBC Studios Nordic Productions Sweden, Mikael Hansson – previously Head of Programmes – has been promoted to Head of Scripted BBC Studios Nordic Productions Sweden.
“Mikael Hansson has done an extraordinary job. He is behind our successful shows Klassen, Klassresan and our new teen drama VGS for SVT. He is a critically acclaimed director, and he has been a pioneer in developing the genre ‘Affordable Fiction'” says Daniel Svarts.
Peter Nyrén begins his new position on the 1st November 2023.
